Book Signing Opal LeeTODAY #Vegas 4pm Ms. Opal Lee Grandmother of ❤🖤Juneteenth💚💛 and we present her to our city, our community, and our neighborhood. As our excitement spills over anticipating hearing her story, buying her book, and being in her presence, we host her at the new Marlon’s Closet and Bookstore located on the hostoric Westside of Las Vegas. They are on a 100 city tour to build our community beyond Juneteenth.
Ms. Opal Lee is an American retired teacher, counselor, and activist in the movement to make Juneteenth a federally-recognized holiday. She is often described as the “grandmother of Juneteenth”. On June 17, 2021, President Joe Biden signed Senate Bill S. 475, making Juneteenth the eleventh federal holiday. Wikipedia
